Haunted Ivy
Haunted Ivy (2019) is a collection of works that focus on portals, trap doors, and subconscious spaces that lead to experiences of cleansing and transformation. This body of work is composed of painted figures on stretched canvas (five pieces) and mixed-medium works that encompass figure and abstraction (seven pieces). The importance of the diversity of materials is to reference both organic and human-made realizations of the human body. For example, “Dream Canyon” references body, skin, and organ through the layering and pouring of beeswax, while “Light Space” does this through imagery that plays with the known limits of skin and anatomy.
